Bali for a weekend

Being based in Singapore, Bali is a mere 2.5h flight away and a no-brainer for a weekend getaway to catch some compressed air.

Bali usually has pretty clean waters, but this time, in April, it seems a lot of debris and trash got pushed in by the currents. Not only on the surface, but even underwater there was heaps of it floating around. Everyone did their best to gather as much of it while diving. Each dive we would find debris and collect it, Leon & Gemma from Living Seas would carefully remove trash stuck on corals and we would bring it back to land where it got disposed properly in the waste bins. Hopefully the content doesn’t just get dumped back into the ocean!

It would be interesting to find out where the debris is originating from. Maybe a project in the future.
